Any sort of roadmap for Xenforo 2.3 ?

Here.... I'll post the same thing I did over there for the entitled ones.

I do agree that 2 years is excessive... but I grant the XF developers some "grace" because of the time I know it took to get their cloud solution up and running... but that's bought and paid for... so now it's time to get on the stick with 2.3. There ARE many improvements that need to be rolled in...social groups & calendars being two big ones.... If they don't want to take the time to roll their own solution... there is one in existence that could be open for being purchased and rolled in... much like XFMG was.

Here is the thing, they have never promised us a release date for 2.3, merely said it would come this year. As of now, there's still four months left for them to accomplish that. So nothing is delayed or late unless it gets carried over into 2023. Then there might be some reason for complaining.

Common sense at last, if it's not broke don't fix it 👋
You laughed at my comment as if I'd said something ridiculous. I haven't. I'm only reflecting on what others are saying as this lack of communication isn't helping customer perception of XF and that will affect their bottom line. I'd have thought you'd understand that.

XenForo, judging by the increasing amount of sarcastic comments on here and The Admin Zone, you're taking quite a PR hit. I therefore suggest you give your customers some kind of update to help manage expectations and hence improve their mood. This current situation can't be good for sales and renewals, helping to depress them.
For this reason, I've not renewed my forum licence for the first time ever. It's been under renewal now for a few months. I'd rather wait and get my moneys worth (I hope)

Thankyou. Great example of what I'm saying and I don't blame you. Me, I'll keep up the renewal as I like to take part in the forum and also for forum tech support, such as it is.

Off-topic, but from what I can see - You don't loose any access to the forum at all. Just support and upgrades. I don't need either right now unless it's 2.3 :D

Yes, one can't post in the support areas without a subscription. You can still have fun elsewhere!

That's a bit presumptuous

And that is EXACTLY what to do... if XF sees their renewal revenue stream starting to dry up from lack of renewals because of lack of new feature sets... guess what. Odds are it will cause a new look at their current process.
I've found all the whining, griping or **** talk in the world rarely causes a company to change direction... that happens usually when something starts affecting their bottom line.... like lack of renewals.

Unlike IPS, you don't have to have an active license to do such... you only have to have an active license to download the most recent version of the script and to submit tickets.

Incorrect... as I said, ALL you cannot do is download the latest nor submit tickets. As long as you have a VALID (doesn't have to be active but simply VALID) license you have access to all areas... including downloading up to the latest that your VALID license is good for... again, unlike IPS.

Corrected that for you.
No, you're wrong. You've not corrected anything. How can you claim it's only a few? Do you have stats to back it up? Of course not. In the meantime, I'm observing an increasingly annoyed attitude by the members at the delay and lack of communication - hard evidence and hence basing my comment on that. I'm not even giving my opinion there, just making a suggestion based on what I see from member's posts on these two forums.

Well I for one am happy not to have to feel I have to upgrade just for the sake of it because there hasn’t been one for a while.
Thankyou, your comment is making my point nicely on how they're losing revenue due to this, similar to @btmgreg

@Tracy Perry thanks for the forum posting clarification. I sorta know where I got confused with it, but it didn't have anything to do with IPS.

ppl, I think I should clarify that I made the comment below, because I want XF the company to be healthy in money and staff, which will benefit both them and us. Managing customer expectations can be everything sometimes. It's good customer service 101.

No, you tried to appeal to their bottom line which is stupid as they just released XF Cloud that has made them more stable financially, and probably boosted their annual revenue by making XenForo more approachable.

"Increased amount of sarcastic comments on here and TAZ"... TAZ has been nothing but sarcastic comments for years, and has had no real relevancy for longer than that. And the sarcastic comments here are a small minority of the overall user base of XenForo so not sure how that impacts anything. Most of the people who have been vocal have no relevancy outside of their own site, and those that do have relevancy (developers/designers) are happy to wait 🤷‍♂️.

I will say though, this thread has been good for farming people to ignore for silly inane arguments.
