How exactly are thread views calculated in XenForo 2.3?

I'm comparing XenForo thread view counts with GA4 page views and would like to understand precisely what XenForo counts as a thread view.
In particular:
  • Is the view incremented server-side on every thread-page request?
  • Are bots/crawlers excluded, and if so how?
  • Are repeated views by the same logged-in user or IP address suppressed for any period?
  • Does viewing different pages of a multi-page thread increment view_count each time?
  • Are views incremented immediately or batched/cached before being written to xf_thread.view_count?
  • Are there any other requests or mechanisms that can increment view_count without representing a conventional human page view?
I'm trying to understand why a thread's XenForo view_count can be materially higher than GA4 Views for the same period.
Thanks

Is the view incremented server-side on every thread-page request?
Yes, if it doesn't look like a embedded (image) request.

Are bots/crawlers excluded, and if so how?
No.

Are repeated views by the same logged-in user or IP address suppressed for any period?
No.
Does viewing different pages of a multi-page thread increment view_count each time?
Yes.

Are views incremented immediately or batched/cached before being written to xf_thread.view_count?
Batched.

Are there any other requests or mechanisms that can increment view_count without representing a conventional human page view?
No.
