A collection of improvements to the XenForo Alerts system.
This add-on requires php 5.6 or newer.
Do not use MySQL statement-based replication with this add-on
For threads/conversation/profile pages, automatically marks alerts as read from content on a given page when viewed.
Current XF behavior shows the number of page notification in front of the page title (e.g. in the text of a browser tab) and it would be more easily seen if it was implemented as an overlay in the corner of the favicon like it was on XF 1.5 with the LiveUpdate add-on installed.
Improvements to XenForo's user mentions system. This addon was a private addon 2 weeks before public release.
This addon is not designed to deal with large group memberships. This feature may be added in the future.
Mentionalable user groups.

I just noticed that we have a fair bit of functionality missing from media in relation to alerts. I'll list them all here as implementation suggestions. They are largely just duplicates of functionality we already get for threads and resources.
we already get alerts when someone likes our...
Designed for when large volumes of alerts and emails are send out on content updates.
It uses the XF deferred system to push alert & email notifications into a new request. This can dramatically reduce memory usage and ensures the large volume of alerts & emails being sent to not impact the...
Similar to how it works when you hover over a thread title and it loads the first posts
I find when I'm catching up on hundreds of alerts it's a right pain having to click through and load the entire page to see what post the alert referenced
This is mainly useful for post likes, where you...
If you're on a forum where your post gets liked (or rated) a lot, then you will get many alerts for feedback on previous posts.
This feedback is sent to you in the form of an alert.
With each alert, you're notified that you're were liked or rated in relation to 'some' post in a certain thread...
Does anyone know how to adjust the time that checked alerts stay in the drop down box? Please see attached for drop down box example.
It's seems that after I check the alert, the alert message just hangs around in that box for hours. I want the alert message to be gone as soon as I...
The sentence "Unviewed alerts do not expire" is found on this page: /admin.php?options/list/alerts
Unfortunately, alerts do in fact expire and disappear after a period of time.
Is this a bug in XenForo?
I searched for such a feature and didn't seem to find anything. Am I missing something?
Is there a way to receive an alert whenever a member you follow starts a new thread? Or, would it be possible to automatically watch the threads started by the members you follow?
Let me know...
Remind Users to Return
Add "and receive email notifications" to Alert Preferences.
Habits don’t form overnight. It takes several days, often weeks for a product or service to earn unprompted user engagement, triggered by people’s day-to-day emotions. Consider your use of...
I tried searching to see if something already exists out there but didn't see anything.
What I'm after would be relativity straight-forward... a cron job to generate an email to users reminding them of any unread conversations after X days (that respects the user email alert preferences of...
I want to use the Notices System to alert my users of issues automatically. My forum is for a small town and we have a creek that floods often. I have written a script to automatically pull the creek level. I have an alert that I want to have either active or inactive. When I manually change...
Update (2016 May 28th):
@Xon has taken over this @Daniel Hood's add-on. This product is now available for purchase again. For more information read this thread.
The cron that sends the email is registered as a cron entry under the "Tools" -> "Cron Entries" page. This allows you...
This add-on enables you to keep alerting users of responses to threads regardless of the last time they viewed the thread. By default XenForo alerts users of a new reply to a thread they're watching only if they've viewed the thread since the last alert. This reduces redundancy. However...
When we move posts on my forum, we rely upon the "Notify thread starter of this action" check box to ensure that the thread starter gets a notification alert. However, no alerts are being sent. We've verified this with a few users.
Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.
