Unmaintained Moderator Essentials 1.14.5

I've taken over this add-on from @Daniel Hood, and it's now available on my site, Atelier Aphelion, for purchase and download. All future versions will be there, as well.

If you have a current license for this add-on, you can register it there (instructions are available here). You'll get a license from me (terms here), for the remaining duration of your original license, plus another 30 days - just a friendly gesture because of the inevitable delays caused by the hand-over.

My plan is to review and update this add-on to address any outstanding issues. Because I've taken over almost all of @Daniel Hood's add-ons, it might take me a while to get to this one.

To improve support, the requirements for this add-on have been updated:

• php 5.4+
• Xenforo 1.3+

What's New:

• The rollback warning option now has a "None" option which will disable a warning being sent. This allows you to use the edit history rollback functionality without the possibility of your staff "warning" the user.

What's New

• Fixed an undefined index error when "thread notes" threads went longer than one page.

Fixed an issue with conversations being marked as read.

Bug Fixes

• Fixed a messed up phrase relating to lifting bans.
• Fixed attachments in posts being converted to conversation messages. The attachments previously were "lost". Now they get switched over to the conversation messages.
• Fixed a bug with the permission setting for allowing mods to search users by ip address.

What's New:

• Options in the Moderator Essentials options group to control what user the warnings come from.
  • Useful for when conversations want to be handled within one account rather than on each staff member's personal accounts.

• Fixed a bug that allowed staff to revoke thread reply bans that were in nodes they weren't staff of.
• Added a more appropriate error message when following a link to start a discussion on a moderator log item that doesn't exist.

What's New?

• Thread Notes
  • User permission to grant access to thread notes. This allows your staff to easily create a secondary thread in the node of your choice where they can discuss things happening in the thread. Useful to discuss potential discipline of users.
  • To configure this new feature, these are the recommended steps:
  1. Create a new node that isn't displayed in the forum list and only staff has access to (a child node of an existing staff only forum would be good).
  2. Go into the options for moderator essentials and select that as your thread notes node.
  3. Grant permission to your moderating user group to use the thread notes.
• New Permissions
  • Permission for determining which staff members can view banned users. Allows you to grant access to view banned users without granting access to ban users.
  • Permission for ip searching.

All the new permissions are set to disallow by default, you'll need to enable them as you see fit.

Thread Tools

When viewing a thread, there's two new links next to the "watch thread" link (permissions are required).

• Top Contributors
  • Clicking this pops up an overlay that displays all the users that have posted in the thread along with a counter of how many times each one posted.
  • Permission: "[ModEss] Can View Top Contributors"
• Moderator Log
  • Clicking this pops up an overlay that displays the moderator log regarding actions taken on the particular thread.
  • Permission: "[ModEss] View Moderator Logs (For Threads):"

• Added the ability to convert posts to conversation messages (includes a new permission).
  • This will soft-delete the posts (with the option to hard-delete instead -- requires the hard delete permission) and start a conversation including all the members that authored the posts involved.
  • The moderator performing the action can also type a brief message that will become the most recently reply to the conversation and also make them a participant in the conversation.
