XF 2.1 Youtube videos won't play on mobile (sometimes)

A few users on my forum have reportedly been unable to play youtube videos while on mobile. They receive the message "Video Unavailable."

I heard that this issue has also been occurring on some other forums, but I was wondering if it would be possible to fix this on our end? Or would it have to be through Youtube's end?

We'd need a reliable way to reproduce the issue but apart from that it seems like it's probably an issue on YouTube's end.
Posting a string of different youtube videos and viewing them on mobile would reproduce the issue.

It seems to me that I'm able to play the video 1/4 of the time, but the rest of the time the same video won't play and I just receive the "Video Unavailable" message.

I might file a support ticket with Youtube as well (not sure where I can do that) because this issue has been affecting several forums that I know of.

We have a few video-heavy threads like that here and haven't seen anything like that.

Ideally if you can try and reproduce the same effect here, that will make it easier for us to test. We have a "Test messages" forum you can post in.

It seems to happen the most with videos for songs, here's the last video I saw with the error message:

This is what I see on mobile:

Well, this is interesting, I just tried playing that video on mobile and it works perfectly.

This issue might potentially be caused by custom styling? I wonder what the culprit is

we are thinking it is an iPhone issue, androids seem to be fine

It's most likely an iPhone issue since all of the users on my forum who have reported this issue, are all iPhone users
So I was testing out this issue today, here is the weird thing, it's happening on my MacBook as well,
this page:
7 out of the first 10 do not play

BUT, when I quote the exact same videos in another thread, every one of them played for me, within the quote!

I would be curious if this happens for you as well, or any other Mac user with this issue...

Interestingly enough, I tried playing this on my MacBook on two different browsers. It works like a charm on Chrome with no problems between regular posts / quoted posts. However, I tried it on safari and I ran into the same problem.
