xF-Wordpress Bridge [Paid] [Deleted]

hmm that's weird, I don't see your comments coming anywhere.

I'll re-install the WordPress side.
Change my password in the admin cp and than you can try and comment. See if it's the cookie's are playing up than just PM me the password after your done :)

@faeronsayn - is this working with 3.8?

Also, any news / progress on some of the features requested by quite a few people in here - Profile link linking to xF, Creating a thread with a snippet from post, which acts as comments etc - Much like the older WP Bridge did.

If you can do that, I expect your sales to shoot up.

also, does this work with SSO across multiple xF installs do you know? SO I have Site A with WP+xF Bridge and I have Site B - Again, with WP+xF. I want users to only have one login for both sites.

Does this work?

The demo (http://faeroncorp.com/) already uses WP 3.8 with the bridge.

"Profile link linking to xF" which profile link? This should already be working.

"Creating a thread with a snippet from post, which acts as comments etc - Much like the older WP Bridge did."

This was never promised, duplicating content is not the best idea anyway.

If you have SSO between the two XF sites, meaning registering at the Site A's forum creates an account on Site B's forum then the bridge will replicate that user onto Site B's WordPress installation as well. If that user was replicated over from Site B's forum to Site A's forum then the bridge will replicate it onto Site A's WordPress.

Please do remember though, "One purchase allows you to use this bridge on one site."

It was asking of whether it worked, nothing more.

Secondly, although you may think "Repeating content" (when actually using a snippet to start the thread, not all) is a bad idea, right now, having comments and forum posts as separate entities either invalidates your comments section or your forum section. One should affect the other.

Right now, the situation as it stands actually causes duplicate content. I'm finding if we post an article on WP, someone will then post a forum thread about this also (if it's hot topic). What then happens is, you have duplicate information and content in two separate locations which are disconnected. If the feature stated was implemented, this would not happen, or much less frequently.

If person A is going through the forum and joins the discussion, then person B who is reading the WP should see the discussion on the article in the form of comments.

WP vB Bridge works in this way
WP IPB Bridge works in this way
WP xF (Original) Bridge worked in this way

Right now, it's like a 75% complete bridge. I'm not saying enforce it (Some people may not want it, but most do) - make it a check box

  • Check to have comments controlled by Xenforo
  • Select which forums the Category articles create a thread in
I never stated that you promised it, but it is a highly requested feature. I'm not sure if you are able to create a poll within this discussion, but if you asked people, I'd say it was an 80/20 split "for" this integration. Ultimately, it will make the mod more versatile and appeal to a wider audience, hence more money for you.

Installation

1. Upload the xF-Wordpress Bridge folder into your plugins folder in Wordpress. (i did this, it looks like there is just a php file in there... but it doesnt allow me to proceed to step 2

2. Go to settings -> xen and configure the bridge, map the users.

Step 2.5 should be activating the plugin.
