XF developers: Keep doing what you are doing
Its like the 1990s in here..."why do we need mobile phones when i can just use a landline to talk to someone. Mobiles are just too large, expensive and my pockets buldge if i put it in there". Some people are just so averse to evolution and progress and turn an absolute blind eye to the lack of communication. Just refer to the first post in this thread. Coming soon. Over one year later and here we are. In the exact same position but without any update for months. Mediocre.

Dont care about the lack of progress but the comms is abysmal, as always. Just hire someone who understands basic communication.

This is looking really good -- is it live?
In development, but yeah https://cozygameforum.com

Looks good. Are you able to see threads and replies? That's how I have mine setup here: https://kiasportageforums.com/social-feed/

If you click the link to see replies, you can view and interact with replies in the social feed. It's setup similarly to how Twitter/X works. You do need to be logged in to actually reply...
You see the latest reply at the moment, but could be tweaked to show all threads and replies.

It is based on search forums :)

That's a pretty long trek for the mouse to navigate through the site since you have not limited the maximum width of it.
Very anti-ergonomic and also strange to look at because the middle panes are so narrow in contrast.
‘In development’

I have a long list of UI tweaks to come yet.

The problem is money. Big capital has settled into online community building and has chosen its champions. They did not choose Xenforo.

The average community builder has moved to Discord, and the flagship enterprise customers have moved to Discourse. Those two companies have more VC money than they can spend, and more developers and talent than every other forum software combined.

They both offer entirely free products.
Xenforo won't compete with free. But Forum only Xenforo didn't really try.
Whoever is left at XF aside from Chris has gone silent, and the reason seems pretty clear to me. Their resources are drying up, and if someone who's absent is siphoning up what's left, they need to stop and focus it on whoever is still putting in the work, i.e., Chris.

They've also mismanaged things. LONG TIMES before major releases dries up the cash. They were also slow to the Cloud market. Cloud customers are paying customers and they want a whole package not just a forum.

2026 will be a great year for Xenforo. And since 2027 is more than 13 months away I feel confident in saying that.
