Scammed how exactly? Because the "soft deadline" was missed and Jaxel hasn't responded in here? To be honest after the witch hunt by a few members I hope he ignores this thread and just gets on with coding rather than being drawn into the drama.

I don't remember how you reacted to Kier and Mike's absence but I assume the over-reaction wasn't this big.
Forget comparing apples and oranges ... Apples and walnuts (not even fruit)

When KAM was away during the lawsuit, goods and services had been delivered. I and others also understood fully well that they couldn't speak up or do anything. We bought into the product knowing fully well that what we got maybe the only thing we were ever going to get.

In this case however, nothing has been delivered. Money has been paid, but no return. And the developer is completely free to speak up anytime they wish, but remains silent.

I have to deal with people I don't want to all day long but its part of the responsibilities I signed up for when running forums. That is exactly what he signed up for when he took $5,000 from this community. His choice of ignoring us is his own and it will not end well for him if it continues.

With 7 months left before anything was promised is that really a surprise?
Given the circumstances, yes.

The circumstances are thus...

His last comment on this can be found here, posted on April 12, 2014, which basically says and I'm paraphrasing here...

"Hey guys, thanks for the money, leaving the country for various reasons, no update even though I promised one a while ago... See you when I see you"

And after that, complete silence on the matter.

He has been PAID to do this, there is no excuse when he is obviously browsing the forums frequently, but ignoring completely this thread.

No he hasn't. He's been supported to produce a product in 7 months time.

Your paraphrasing leaves a bit to be desired :p

If you look at recent posts, even from yesterday.. his forum browsing is him answering threads about his other add-ons, if he is still updating and supporting his other add-ons, I'm sure he is at least thinking of things for this project too. He gave a 7 month still time frame to avoid this sort of pressure and witch hunt this thread as turned out to be in the first place. Funny thing is I bet several in this thread hadn't even contributed but instead just throwing more logs onto the drama fire.. Same as they do every other drama thread here.

I've contributed and I know a few others that feel the same as I have. So can we stop betting, assuming or predicting what will happen and can we just get the guy that is going to make this to stop intentionally ignoring the concerns that people have, further frustrating people to a point where it is now seemingly intentional act for whatever reason and spend 10-20 minutes of his time over the next two days to collect his thoughts and give us an update where he is with this project?

If he could have been bothered to spend that time over the last previous two days this whole thing would be done with.

The thing isn't that he gave himself a year to do it. That's fine, if it takes a year to build it takes a year to build. It appears though he hasn't even started, which he has 7 months left, he could get it done. If he only needed 7 months though and didn't plan to take the project seriously for the first 5 months, why did he need the money 5 months ago? The argument for crowd funding is that the developer needs money to live on while they work on the project instead of working on other things to support themselves. So, he should have taken the money when he was ready to develop, not 5 or 6 months before hand.

[Edit]
He may have started development and if that's the case I don't see why he doesn't just post "I started, please stop stressing guys". Instead he just ignores all the ideas of him just taking the money with no intentions of working which makes it feel more true.

He specifically posted in April for people "not to worry, I haven't taken the money and run but some things came up which have caused a delay".

Until there's something to be updated about I don't get the issue with his lack of communication and frankly if he reads some of the rubbish/accusations in here he could just refund the lot and give up.

Refund? Hahahahahaha. Not gonna happen.

He started the crowdfund quickly for the quick cash. If he wasn't in need for a certain amount in a certain timeframe, surely he could have coded it on his own time, and released when needed. There was a reason for it. I'd wager something to do with St. Maarten myself... just a guess.

Even if you are right, does any of that matter? Does supporting it now mean we can dictate what he's spending his money on?

At the end of the day, everyone's going to get what they paid for so I really don't see your issue (especially as you're not affected either way).

If come December and we're still no closer to a release then I'll happily apologise and agree you were right all along. For now it looks like you're just trying to cause trouble with no foundation apart from a bit of a delay and some (expectedly) poor communication.

How so? How am I not affected?

Either way, not causing trouble, merely voicing my opinion just as everyone else has done. You are on one side, I am obviously on the other. I respect your opinion and thoughts, but they are vastly different than my own.

I like and admire your optimism. And for your sake and everyone else's sake, I really do hope you're right.

But from what I have seen and my own experience in funding someone else; I see bit of a similarity going on. So I suspect you may be wrong.

But do not think I wish any bad on anyone. I really hope I'm wrong and you're right and that your good faith and trust is not wasted.

Only thing i cant understand.
People are discussing, arguing, getting frusated, making suggestions... this and that.
@Jaxel is on, at least once a day. Whats so hard to jump in to leave a short note whats going on or whats not, just to let everyone know they are "not alone"

This.........
As I stated a while back.... he doesn't care. He already has what he wanted.
The bottom line is he crowdfunded this project in order to get payed to develop a portal for his own community. Suggestions or comments are not welcome or needed in regards to the Portal Jaxel is creating to perfectly suit his needs, no one elses, not yours, not mine. or hes just a coward. More than likely both.

It only took a few days to write v1. I'm no coder so I don't know but it seems to me a rewrite would be pretty simple now that he has a stronger understanding of XF today then he did when the product was new.
