He told us some weeks (mounths?) ago that the first release would be a rewrite of the actual XenPorta. I think that according to that, we should not expect the update of the year and to be honest with you I don't care a beta forum in order to discuss the rewrite. I really prefer to have everything ready (beta build etc...) for the 2.1 if it's the way @Jaxel intends to work. If it's not, you are right, it's been a long time without news and I hpe that the forum will be out soon (it's already June)

I was just answering the question of where it was at. I'm pretty sure my reply was correct in that there is no beta, no private beta testers forum, no screenshots and no updates as to the stage of the rewrite No? I'm not claiming that it's late or that he's not going to do it... I was simply answering the question that was asked.

Since you mention age, and it's something you and I have discussed very recently, I'm going to respond here. I'm not sure where the irony is, or what is immature about answering a question with a truthful answer. I've made no claims that Jaxal won't supply this addon, I'm certainly not getting a kick out of the lack of communication by him and I really do hope that he comes through on it sometime this year (I believe he stated December as the targeted release period). So, please do not make assumptions. Thanks

Well, I don't even know if you still read this thread @Jaxel but, as you told me some days ago, here is my list of little suggestions for XenPorta 2.0.

Portals

- Possibility to stylize every portal into Extra.CSS. The best way would be to add in id to every portal. It would be aweome to even be able to change the logo so it has to be far far away into the structure.
- Since portals are created with categories, it would be great to merge categories from XenMedio (and maybe Xenrio).
- A admin panel into every portal in order to be bale to schedule articles, moderate them etc... is a must have in my opinion.
- Permissions per portal would be nice. It would allows us to have for example the main portal displaying important articles from every other portals.

Articles

- Of course, the best thing would be to create articles into the portals, maybe as a new node, and separate them from the forum.
- An author block is of course a nice idea with the name (ofc) photo, maybe a moto, and the last articles of this person.

Blocks

- The main problem with the actual blocks is the fact that in huge boards when you have a lot's of articles, it's hard to find a way to have something clean.
The thing I would propose is simple, in each articles we would be able to choose images to be displayed into the RecentNews and every other blocks that accept images (according to the option I add at the top) including the slider.
For example, if you want your article to be display into the first block, you add an image to it and it's done.

For the home portal, it would be a system slightly different.

- The home portal would be designed to display every articles from every portals.
- Articles would be able to be set as important ones.
- Each blocks would have an option to display only important articles.

Basically it's the same as it's now but, the main change would the image system.

- Add blocks per portals (as it is now) and have options per blocks, per portals so that we don't have to add a lot's of the same blocks.

that's hardly the thing I want with XenPorta 2.0

Portals already exists. Each category you create is a portal your_site.com/articles/name_of_the_category

Ah I see what you mean. That's not quite the same thing as it's tied to categories.

There has only been one thing confirmed with XenPorta 2.0, the developer has been paid a bit over $5k.

Anything else is simply a rumor, since the developer with the cash refuses to acknowledge and answer those that ssupported this crowd fund.

I have no interest in XenPorta. I have found it to be flawed and bugged and I suspect v2 would be flawed and bugged with just as little support as v1.

I do however have an interest in XenForo and I take an interest when someone appears to have scammed the community at large. With that said....

I guess technically, if people are concerned about XenPorta 2.0 and think they have been scammed, they could give him a call. As a domain owner, his information is of public record.

Scammed how exactly? Because the "soft deadline" was missed and Jaxel hasn't responded in here? To be honest after the witch hunt by a few members I hope he ignores this thread and just gets on with coding rather than being drawn into the drama.

I don't remember how you reacted to Kier and Mike's absence but I assume the over-reaction wasn't this big.

@RobParker the only reason drama exists is because @Jaxel allows it. I don't agree we are being scammed but I do agree that his reputation is being tarnished with every day he logs in and doesn't address these growing issues. Its his call. So far, these crowdsourcing adventures that members of xenForo have done have not gone well at all.

If you take peoples money, don't be a **** about it. I don't understand how anyone can defend his lack of communication from paying customers.
