XenForo on 1.2

Has anyone tried any image wrap? I wasn't able to make it happen with the align left, etc..
Do you need to use an image linked from afar as opposed to attached images to make this happen?

See the front page and other examples on the redactor site.

How are your two sites doing since moving to Xenforo? The droneflyers one looks fun. I wonder how people will react when 1.2 hits. If users will embrace it easily or be confused with all the new features and little changes and tweaks.

Will the template modification system add on clash in any type of way with the built in one for 1.2? @Brogan , would you have time to check?

Just think about it.
Two different developers, working on similar functionality, not talking to each other
At best, it would sort of work, but you will have some precedence problem with which edit goes first. Then, most likely Mike changed the edit template for that Apply Changes options or some other things ....

Safest thing is to assume it will not work. If it does, it will be by chance and not design, and you could have weird side effects crawling waiting for you to discover them.

I think it is safe to assume the XenForo developers will NOT verify if an add-on remains compatible. That is for each add-on maker once 1.2 beta is released to check if their add-on still works on the new version.

If they need to be changed to work on 1.2 so from now on we would have 2 separated version trees for each addon :D

I've reported before on the main hearth forum - doing extremely well. The drone site was a abandoned WP site which I purchased - so the forum itself is a new feature (doing well though, Grand Opening is on now)....

Basically we moved 95% of our features to the XF framework from the old EE CMS.

As far as 1.2, I tend to disagree with some about the "game changed". It's a good evolution, not a revolution. I'm torn as to when to adopt it because the existing setup is working perfectly. I look at it as a iphone 4s (1.2) compared to an iphone 4.....the average user would probably only notice the new editor (if that!).

So Xenforo pretty much handles all the CMS features of EE? That's interesting. I guess all the bells and whistles of EE aren't really needed then. I think I'm going to just post articles inside a forum node and call it a day! Keep it simple. As long as the content is there, then it gives members what they want.

I have seen a few comments about alerts not arriving for tagging so for anyone who's wondering, this is the hierarchy:

Quoted > Tagged > Thread Watch > Forum Watch

You forgot to include likes and trophies notifications in your hierarchy list.

I was just about to ask this. Your ninja-ing has gone faster than light :-p

Just throwing in a random XF 1.2 new feature "like" - the conversation participants - really liking this new addition. Being able to see everyone involved in a conversation from the view list is great; makes it soooooo much easier to identify specific discussions you're having with people, without having to open the conversation itself.

For those of you who haven't noticed, forum descriptions are no longer shown when the screen resolution dips below the medium setting (when the last post moves) and signatures no longer show when the user info goes to the top.
