Can you provide support to share resource databases?

I would like to share the same resources between multiple sites.

Hello, @oVR

Do you mean support for XenForo Resources (official addon by XenForo), or something else? We plan to implement support for Resources in coming releases. If you mean sharing some content between different sites (not running via our plugin, but different databases and file systems), that is out of scope of this product, but we should be able to help with custom solution creation. Just contact us at http://desk.xencentral.com and we will review your requirements.

Thank you!

Yeah I mean the official addon by XenForo.

Do you have a time frame for release?

We do not have any exact timeframe, but can schedule it for coming week. We plan to implement resource category filter, so that you can just create different categories that will belong to different domains and organize your resources this way. If you see any better approach for this case please let us know.

Thank you!

That is exactly what I'm looking for!

Let me know when you update it and you got yourself a customer :)

XCentral updated XenCentral Multisite System with a new update entry:

XenCentral Multisite System 1.2.5 released

Hello everyone,

This is the next update to XenCentral Multisite System allowing to filter XenForo Resource categories per domain and rename categories for each domain, just like filter for nodes work. If filter is enabled only categories allowed will be shown in category list and only resources that belong to allowed categories will be shown in recent/top etc. listings.

All licensed customers can download the updated package from Clients Area.

Thank you!

after reconsidering my needs would this be able to support a system where multiple sites feed off of the same XFRM database?

so if a resource is posted on one site it shows up on other sites part of the network?

Hello, @sweetpotato
It's very nice, about upgrading. I appreciate your work.

Thank you!

Of course you can. Just make the category where you post such resources available in both (or many) domains, and you will see these resources in multiple sites. Please let us know if this is what you meant, or you need something else.

Thank you!

@XCentral can you advise if this latest update enables you to just filter to the categories rather than filtering to the forum node level i.e. just select the categories in the filter rather than selecting every forum...thanks

Hello, @ibaker

Not sure what you mean by selecting forums. Yes, with this version you just select Resources categories that should be displayed under particular domain, and other ones are hidden (and the resources in them) are hidden. If you mean the forum where each resource creates its thread (which is optional), that forum should be whitelisted under that domain of course (using Node Filter).

Let us know if you have any other questions.

Thank you!

Hello, @Allan Hsu

Yes, that is the main functionality of this add-on. Go to Admin CP > XenCentral > Multisite System > Manage Sites > Add Domain and add/configure each domain. Before that you have to point the second domain to the main domain where XenForo is installed.

Thank you!

The problem is that I don't want a 'second domain" to point to the installation file.

I want a "second domain / forum" to point to the installation file

That case, then use "addon domain" same section and then symlink /forum of your second domain to your xenforo install on the 1st domain. If you don't have SSH access, you would need to ask your webhost to do this for you
