XenCentral Multisite System - XC Multisite System allows to have completely customized sites on single XenForo installation

XenCentral Multisite System allows to create unlimited completely customized sites on single XenForo installation. Product allows to customize almost any aspect of XenForo installation for unlimited domains and subdomains. XC Multisite System makes it possible to create a network of communities where each site looks unique and behaves in its own way while still having the same administration, users, add-ons etc. (similar to concept of vB Cerberus for vBulletin). Addition of new sites and their...

To clarify the license terms and using this addon.

Each License may run one instance of the Software, accessible via one URL. Any attempt to circumvent this limitation is prohibited and will result in the License being revoked.

This means, if you use this addon with multiple domains or subdomains, to make them apear different, or display differentiated content, then you will require multiple XenForo licenses.

If you have any questions regarding particular useage of this addon and the licensing requirements, please use the contact form or open a support ticket.

Great to see a version of vB Cerberus to finally hit xenForo. Two questions before purchasing..

1) Does each unique instance support it's own facebook login allowing you to use a seperate facebook app key and secret?

2) Does this support unique content on xenPorta the way Cerberus does for Suite?

I'm at a loss to see what this add-on provides if multiple licenses are required.

Maybe the ability to use one database?

Yes, product allows to change any XenForo setting on per-domain basis, those making possible to set different Facebook application details for each domain.

XenPorta is not integrated into the product yet, but we plan integration of all widely-used third-parties into our product, and will do so based on customer feedback and requirements. Please let us know what kind of integration exactly you are looking for and we will consider it for implementation in coming week.

Thank you!

Great, on xenPorta, would want to see articles only for forums that were set to that domain. So say it's a MMO forum and one per domain is WoW and 2nd is EverQuest, only promoted WoW articles show on the WoW XenPorta. Same with widgets, recent posts should only contain posts to that domain and social media widgets to allow you to display facebook page and twitter feed you have for that domain.

Also what about usernames? Ability to use a seperate username on each domain would be awesome while still only having one total account. Same with post count and likes, if the count is unique per domain and searching posts by, only bring back results per that domain.

Lastly can this work also under sub-domains like wow.mymmosite eq.mymmosite or do they have to be root level?

Thank you for the suggestions. For XenPorta "blocks" we will consider to implement the filter as you have requested. Regarding widgets, if you mean the ones implemented with [bd] Widget Framework, we will consider another approach - as there are many types of widgets showing forum-specific data, and custom widgets can be easily created, we will implement a "filter" for each domain - it will show all widgets available in the system, and you will be able to enable only some of them for each domain configured. This way you can create and configure all widgets in Widget Framework interface, and just enable/disable them on per-domain basis.

We will implement both enhancements in about a week.

Thank you!

Great, I ment the widgets in xenPorta, but yes Widget framework support also would be great!

Any answers to my other two questions?

The recent version of XenPorta has only "Blocks", with default list of blocks shown at http://screencast.com/t/AVTO2P52mSfp We will consider tweaking these blocks for now, so not sure which other "widgets" you mean.

Regarding usernames, we may consider it for future versions, but not right now, as now we are more oriented on implementing features allowing to customize the actual content of sites. The same for other features mentioned, but regarding the search, it is already implemented, please check product's settings page for the option.

It works fine for sub-domains and domains, without any difference. Login/logout synchronization does not depend on domains and works fine in both cases.

Thank you!

@taylor_smith The system works with one installation, it allows to point different sub-domains/domains to one, the same installation and configure each domain to show exact nodes, separate styles, to have unique configurations. If you are interested to test drive the system, send a PM or open a ticket at http://desk.xencentral.com and we'll give you admin user details to do it. Thank you!

Looks great. So with multiple domains there is only one user profile regardless of the site, correct? The users inbox can be accessed from any of the domains correct?

Hi,

Great add-on.

I have just tested, but these 2 options seems to do not work for me:

  • Site name in search results. If enabled, and if search results contain threads not available under current domain, the name of domain of the thread/post will be shown in search results. For such nodes/threads/posts automatic 301 redirect happens and correct site is opened.
  • Set nodes available under each site. Nodes and their threads not available under particular site will be 301-redirected to final correct domain.
I think these 2 options are very important.
Maybe there is something else to set ?

Best regards

To see both features in action you can uncheck "Site-specific Search" in product options, and at http://demo.xencentral.com/ search for "Sollicitudin". This will bring two search, and for one of them you will see that the thread is from "Thread at XenCentral XenForo Demo Board Second". The URL for the thread is http://demo.xencentral.com/threads/pellentesque-parturient-purus-sollicitudin.26/ but clicking it you will be redirected to http://demo2.xencentral.com/threads/pellentesque-parturient-purus-sollicitudin.26/ because that thread is not available under current domain.

Let us know if you have other questions.

Thank you!
