Who is waiting for XF 2.3.1?

2.3 The most affected plugins right now. 2.3.1 should never be released before the 2.3 update of the plugins is completed.
The vital structure of many forums is related to plugins.

I really, really want webp support, but I'm holding off until a couple of weeks after 2.3.1 as there's quite a few bugs in 2.3.0, not least the alert bug which will be fixed in 2.3.1. It's quite the annoyance and I've seen it here and elsewhere running 2.3.0, so I don't want to introduce some pesky bug if I don't have to. There's lots of other bugs too, so I don't want them to degrade the experience for myself and my users.

The forums that get errors are usually the forums that do not implement xenforo principles in a timely and appropriate manner. I have always kept the forum updated since the day I entered xenforo and installed the plugins carefully. Xenforo engineers organized a stable forum, but the different requests and requests of the users did not comply with xenforo's vision and continued to receive errors. Any change that disrupts the main structure will disregard all versions in the future.
Let's continue according to xenforu's vision for a well-established and serious forum. First principle, protect your forum with the default theme

What also makes XenForo strong is its predisposition to accept add-ons and styles from third-party developers. Personally I like to stay close to the XF core, notably by customizing the original style and installing few add-ons, but other forums do the opposite and are doing very well.

I remember when we used to get updates regularly and add-on authors would have the updates out within the week. But, after nearly 4 years without a major update, people aren't used to that anymore. Add-on developers shifted their attention to new projects outside of Xenforo long ago and were thus slow to deliver updates for styles and add-ons this time, and admins weren't used to the steps that came with updating anymore. People got rusty.

Tested that on my staging server with 30mln posts without issues...
I believe this is the issue.

Under these conditions 2.3.1 would never be released because not all plugins will be updated by their authors.

A 2.3.1 release would be bug fixes, and any plugin updated for 2.3.0 should work on it.

It will be updated.
That much labor and time cannot be wasted.
Xf has prepared the ground, what else will it do?

I don't think you understand what I was saying.

You said they should not upgrade it until add-ons are updated. All add-ons will never be updated. Only some add-ons will be updated. Every time there is a big Xenforo update, there are some add-ons never updated.

Don't be overly concerned about what happens from here.
At least we know that 2.3.1 will repair some bugs.
3.0 will give us a new editor and style.
I'm sure that one of the staff here will tell us when it will be happening though.

I'm holding off until 2.3.1, which will address a whole bunch of small issues.

I think most of my add on providers are ready to go for 2.3.x

And me although I'll run up a 3.0.0 test site. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that the new editor will cater better for different devices and browsers.
I'll most likely wait until the stable release of 3.0 is around before upgrading because we will all be able to see it on here.
