The fact that you’re “wondering what that even means” when people are getting banned for supporting a candidate they disagree with speaks volumes about how detached you might be from what’s actually happening.

No I was just wondering about the term “leftist” and what people mean by it that’s all. It’s a term I’ve heard said but mostly by people who are unable to define it.

This would be a leftist comment. Paul seems to disagree with trump, musk (or both), and that’s fine. But calling it out as a simp, directly implicates that he finds that everyone that agrees with Musk or Trump, is a simp. On BlueSky most of that would be worse. Just because you agree with some (or all) of the things the other party says, doesn’t mean you should be a simp for supporting another party.

I think Trump has some good stuff, but also the bad stuff (like the climate, etc). I think Elon does a proper job with SpaceX but I don’t think he should be involved in politics with DOGE. I do like the NeuralLink and that new blind device of his though. So there’s a good, and a bad side.

Does it make me an extreme right (or simp) because I agree with some of the things that Trump wants or that Elon says? I dont believe so.

I think everyone should be open to debate with each other, but things can get heated pretty quickly. I tried to do so here in Argentina, but it’s almost impossible. Maybe it’s that “Dutch mentality” I still have and try to share with the Argentinians, but that’s quite difficult.

X - right - pro-trump-hate censorship but still censor just not as extreme as the left
truth social - pro-trump-hate censorship but still censor just not as extreme as the left
gab - mix of pro-trump & hate trump - many religious people, really hate censorship but still censor just not as extreme as the left
facebook - mostly cat people now since facebook banned many on the left and right

i've been banned by 5 of them except bluesky because i havent joined it and don't plan to.

all the 5 social media above are garbage. its just people fighting each other, censoring each other

I voted trump because i love guns, free speech & the democrats are comprised and Trump has been arresting them like pdiddy and others.

I don't like the democrats or republicans. Only Trump

The next 4 years are going to be amazing. Just like the last 8 years of Trump.

In the end none of those social medias will survive.
ive started using nostr and i have been making money on it already and i only have 50 followers. It's bitcoin integrated. Nostr will eat up all those 5 social medias.

Whats great about nostr is no one can censor. Although relays can, you can just setup your own relay then no one can censor you.

Profiles can just block you from their feed but that's all. It should be interesting as more users flock to it.

It''s going to be a free for all.

The zap feature on nostr is genius

I suspect we will see a zap add-on in the near future next to the like button on xenforo.

I find developers everywhere are slow to understand & accept Bitcoin so it might take a while.

No. It does not make you a leftist because you don’t like trump, or you don’t like Elon (or both!). But that you call those who like them a simp, that’s another thing.

Just because you disagree with them, won’t make me say you’re a leftist. But that you use the word simp for those that agree with them, that would indicate you insult or categorize people that agree with the party you disagree with.

In Argentina they call the extreme left “Zurdos”.

It's only a tiny minority of people that are on the right in the world aka pro Trump but climbing since 2016

The U.S.A. has the highest concentration of people who are on the right but climbing since 2016.

Trump is the face of the pro right movement. It will just continue to climb.

If you are not involved or understand politics you will have a hard time understanding the current war between right and the left.

If you don't know if you are right or left. You are mostly likely on the left.

The next 4 years are going to accelerate as Trump has gained a lot of power and countries have very little power compared to the USA.

USA will lead the world. Its going to be tough for many as they are used to a comfortable life provided by left politics.

Left, right or maga or whatever. Does it matter when it comes to reach? If you want to promote your community then surely you would want to reach as many interested people as possible. From this perspective it's a matter of how many real users your posts will reach. I'm seeing some interesting experiments in this regards and this has sparked my interest in bluesky as some report much larger reach there even with a much smaller number of followers. It's early days to make any judgment, but it seems interesting.
