XF 1.3 VB 4.2.2 Redirection using Apache

Sorry if this is the wrong forum to ask this in, feel free to move it.

I've used VB for years, but I'm brand new to Xenforo. I've migrated a small forum over, and I'm trying to get the redirects scripts working.

I've read this page: http://xenforo.com/community/resources/vbulletin-4-x-url-redirection.120/

I've moved my server directory to allow both to run concurrently for a while, so I'm trying to redirect to a new directory. However, I'm not real good with .htaccess files, and the one I cam up with didn't work (no real surprise there).

I'm using Apache and VB4.2.2, anyone have a working .htaccess script I can modify to suit my needs, or more detailed advice on crafting one?

What are your old and new URLs? If you're using standard URLs, presumably those redirects should work though you would need to configure them to point to the XF directory.
