XF 2.1 Upgrade from 2.0.12 to 2.1 RC2 4,393 Missing files !!

I just did an upgrade from 2.0.12 to 2.1 RC2 and got 4,393 missing files and my forum index is a blank page!!!

I checked that I downloaded the Full package of 2.1 RC1 and I I looked for some of the files shown on the error page and they where not their !!

You should NEVER use the full package when upgrading.
It is for new installations only.

If the files are not present on the server then download, extract, and upload them again.

You may also want to check the contents of the data and internal_data directories haven't been wiped (due to using the full package).

Still the FULL PACKAGE got missing files if I want to do fresh installation.

It doesn't look like you've uploaded the files properly, as the files that are missing don't exist in 2.1 -- they're 2.0 files only. The only way they'd come up here is if the hashes file itself hasn't been updated.

Trying to figure out what went wrong as my upgrade process didn't show any error and it was successful. For now am rolling back the backup.

I may well be wrong, but I vaguely remember this happened to me. It was due to FTP preferences overwriting folders rather than merging. Theoretically I think you should get a prompt before any folder overwrites.

I managed to upgrade my forum to 2.0.12 --> 2.1 RC2
