Snogs Site was down, it is now back up ... move along, nothing to see here

It took about 8 hours to get another instance of my site up and running after the attacks. However, in my case, it actually turned out to be a blessing in disguise. Aside from switching from CentOS to Ubuntu, I didn't change anything, but for whatever reason (maybe things just weren't optimally configured for CentOS), it turned out to be a good performance boost for me, especially on the backend. So... thank you to the a-holes who took advantage of the exploit...?

Normally you have backups of a website for at least 2 weeks so that you can get the site up and running again quickly in an emergency.
So I'm surprised that such an important site has been offline for so long.

You can’t restore a CyberPanel backup into cPanel. You have to manually extract the backup, re-image the VPS/server, configure cPanel, manually re-create the account/databases, upload the backup files, fix file permissions/owner, and import the database.

When is XF 3.0 coming out OzzModz coming back online? 😅

On a serious note, I know you'll be busy with getting things up ASAP. My upgrade is just a bit ill-timed (but we're hibernating for now anyway).

Wow that takes a long time.

I just recently had a weird server problem. Ordered a new one, copied files and was back online in about 3 hours. Shouldn't take days...

This is not just a backup issue, and depending on how their server was set up, getting the data back is difficult to impossible currently.

They could go the route of @DragonByte Tech, but that is quite costly and Ozzy does not exactly sell mods for profit.

I can see if I can get him a server with my business partner, however he's hard to contact dealing with the lawsuit we were in and setting up two new data centers.
