No. It has been suggested (altho, I can't remember if it was shot down or tabled for discussion). Personally, I am against it, but if enough people want it (based on liking the suggestion at the support site) and can give enough justification, I am open to it.

Hey Bob, I noticed in the release notes for the new version of Showcase you made the custom fields global so that they could be plugged in anywhere in the showcase section. Any idea if the code you used to do that would be similar to how one would make the custom fields in the RM global? I'm trying to achieve the same thing and found that it's not possible without custom coding.

Ya, its rather simple actually. I can help you this weekend if you want. Just inbox me at the support site to remind me. I'll be around all weekend.

Sounds like a plan. I'll keep you posted via your thread at the support site :)

Is anyone using this for Reviews?

I'm after a mod that allows users to submit and share reviews of Video Games & Tech. Showcase looks like it has the potential to do this, I was just wondering if anyone has any examples?

Hey Bob, got a question. I'm using Resource Managers by Waindigo so that I can create multiple instances of Resource Manager. It also allows me to upload and select a different language for each instance of RM. I am using a custom language for the RM right now, and I noticed that when I browse that section, all of my custom phrases for Showcase go back to defaults. Does this mean I need to export that custom language I'm using and strip out all of the Showcase phrases and re-import it so that it doesn't touch Showcase phrases?

phrases belong to a specific language, so you can't strip them out. You need to export from the language that you made the showcase phrase changes in, not the master language (as that has the default phrases). You could probably do an export from the language you made the changes in, then strip those out of the XML and replace the ones in your other language XML (I'd try it on a dev instance first tho).

Are language changes supposed to be handled like styles when you modify? Keep the master language untouched and create a child language to modify? If so, f-me. I think I've been doing all my mods to the master language.
