Shoutbox by Siropu - A lightweight shoutbox widget.

This is a shoutbox widget that you can add in any of the available widget positions.

Options:

1. Shoutbox refresh interval - Allows you to set refresh interval for new messages. This option can be disabled.
2. Maximum shout length - Set the maximum allows shout length.
3. Shout display limit - Set the maximum number of shouts to display on page load.
4. Delete shouts older than - Allows you to auto-delete shouts older than x days.
5. Enable sound - Enable sound notification...

Cool now was wondering if this was a possible feature.On some website admins are using a sidebar toggle. Was wondering if the shoutbox could be implemented into the sidebar as a toggle feature. So Lets say when the page loads you see the normal sidebar blocks/panels. Then you want to see who is in the shoutbox, you can toggle in the sidebar and the normal blocks go away. I think that would be a sick way to implement the shoutbox.

Yes, it's almost complete. The shoutbox is for those who want something basic.

It seems to me that guests can't read the chat. "Use Shoutbox" option allows them to send messages and this is not good.

We also noticed that user can't actually disable sound notifications.

They work even if this option is turned off.

Nope. The icon reflects correct status.
