Responsive Social Sharing Buttons

Responsive Social Sharing Buttons 1.5.7

No permission to download
Odd - I haven't been able to get this to work since upgrading to 1.5.3. I've tried enabling on two separate sites. Not sure if there is an addon conflict but my testing doesn't seem to indicate one. Like others, the default XF social sharing buttons show. Honestly, I'd prefer to not bother with the Like and +1 and just have sharing buttons that don't require all the heavy javascript.

@TheLaw, Im not sure about this; but maybe this addon and AMS social buttons share the same javascript library, Have tried to desactivate any of those addons?

Great suggestion - but that's not it. I've turned that off and numerous other addons. And turning off the RSSB addon puts the stock XF buttons back in the footer.

Funny stuff... problem solved. Upon closer inspection, I must have changed the forum settings not realizing that the setting in the RSSB control area is to EXCLUDE forums not INCLUDE them as is usually the case with virtually all other addons. Typically you can control or shift click to enable multiple forums for inclusion. Once I realized this and reversed it, everything worked. I'll bet this is the solution for others who may have done this in error, lol.

This is ridiculous
I have an issue with the extension and I asked for help last week and NOTHING has been replied too. Is the Dev ignoring the discussions?

Well.. I mean... a) it's free and you get what you pay for, b) the author hasn't been online since Saturday. Maybe just relax? Resource authors do have lives outside of our resources (especially free ones, come on).

Free yes, but asking for donations.
If the dev wasnt going to support his product (free or not), then of course users will get narky when support isnt there... We have lives outside of getting extensions and waiting for support that seems to never come

I love the sense of entitlement people have. He released a free resource that worked a year ago. He had no obligation to keep it updated just like you have no obligation to use it. To use something for free and be condescending/rude when it doesn't work as expected and you don't get top notch support for something that generated $0 is a bit ridiculous. If you aren't happy with it, uninstall it. I doubt you'll guilt him into coming back and updating it for you. Or.. you know.. just be patient and wait for him to come back and update it.

As for the rest, your assuming to much .... There is no thing as Free... he gets a link from my site to his... or will charge me to remove it....
All the Dev had to do is just let us know if he will or will not support his product and if so, let those that use his/her extension, that he is away until "whenever"
Its called, common decency!

I just get a little upset when people take developers for granted and act like they're owed something. It's even worse when it's on a free resource such as this.

I understand the link back thing, when I say free I'm always referring to money. This applies to all add-ons, especially $0 ones, if you aren't happy with the add-on and you don't want to link back to their site, just uninstall it. People releasing resources for free have very little incentive to update them. Most of them use the add-on on their own sites and post updates when they have a need to update for their own personal use.

As for letting people know when their updates will be posted, sometimes people don't know. Also, depending on the attitude of the person, they may just not want to bother posting until it's ready.

All I'm saying is that free resources should be treated (in general) as "as-is" products. You take it in it's current form, you may hope for an update, but you shouldn't assume it's coming.

I understand what you are saying and agree in part....
As for the Devs, there are some fantastic ones, that support their free and paid products and some that dont.
For the end user, which is why extensions are built, I think I am right saying that we are entitled to support and if its not forthcoming, it should be made quite clear in the "Overview"

I used the extension, I am perfectly fine with the link back and I hope it generates more interest in the Devs work, but I have an issue with the extension that needs his/her suggestions or anyone else for that matter and discussing my opinion whether you agree with or not, does not solve my issue or others that also may encounter similar issues.... And this is the discussion platform for this particular extension... is it not?
After all, we are all here to make our forums the best they can be... using the tools at our disposal

Instead of arguing, is there an alternative that includes, buffer and reddit along with the usual social networks... I would be more than happy to pay as I have paid for quite a few extensions and even had some custom ones built for me at considerable cost

EDIT: It should be noted that I think this is a fantastic extension apart from the support and is why I am holding onto it, in hopes I get this sorted out... It works fantastic on all but articles as I have described

That did the trick...
All I did was disable custom article layout and its now fine...
Thanks for your time... much appreciated

Any update for "1sharerrssburl1" issue?

None issue as far as this resource working with the default XenForo and default template. That would happen when the JS is not loaded into the template. Try it on a vanilla template if its working there then you have issues with your template.
