XF 2.1 Registered members don't see comment box to comment on my profile posts

I have kept the permission on for registered members to comment on profile posts. But I have switched off the permission for registered members to make their own new profile posts. Does that mean that first permission will not work and they can't comment on admin's profile posts even, because they are not seeing the comment box below the admin's profile posts. I know 2.1 is not supported by just asking if anyone can help.

Globally, replying to a profile post depends on the "Comment on profile posts" permission. One a per user basis, this also depends on the privacy settings of the profile the post was made to; they can limit commenting on profile posts.
