How do I change the color or "guest_login_or_register_to_complete_post". It's white on white right now.

Also in the overlay when you select to register the test is still "Your name or email address" which is really confusing. Makes it seem like all someone needs is name when registering.

And the facebook button link inherits a color from message posts rather than white. This is again different than the standard login/register overlay.

hmmm well it works ok when I click the normal login/signup navigation link, but not when I use this addon. hmm

It does. Because it display on Popup (Overlay). I have added the class 'formOverlay' in form classes.

That sidebar registration looks awesome, does XF have an addon like that? Should be a BD widget.

The 'intro thread' as part of the registration steps is an idea I have not seen before. It'd be interesting to see if an add-on could tackle it for XF.
