It's a one time fee and then it's $55 a year to renew support and to have the ability to download updated versions.

Good to know, but once I'd added one 1 year extension to the cart, I couldn't find a way to make it multiple years. If I went back to the start, the option to purchase it again had gone.

You have to purchase each year individually, there's no way to do multiples in one transaction. I did 4 separate transactions.

While it could be a good way to save some money, it requires some thought.

If you renew your license(s) religiously every year then it might make more sense to purchase more than one year as you are suggesting.

However, if you prefer to only renew your license(s) when you need to, i.e. when there's an update you require then buying too far in advance now might actually be more expensive than just buying at the new, more expensive price when you need to.

Aha, good point, I can save £10 or so by waiting a couple of moths after expiry.

At the same time we would recommend you always use the latest version available to ensure you get the best stability and performance but it's definitely something worth thinking about.
