Pricing Tables, Payments, and User Upgrades... How do they work?

Hi,

I'm starting to look at paid membership options, and I'm just hoping for some clarity.

I see that Xenforo has something called "User Upgrades" and there are also several add-ons for "Pricing Tables" @Ozzy47 and "Premium Pages" @XenConcept and maybe others too.

And of course there are payment systems, like PayPal for example.

Bu my question is, how do they work together, or do they not?

Is this the correct flow:
  1. Set up payment system (Paypal) with Xenforo User Upgrades
  2. Create a Pricing Table page
  3. When a user purchases a membership form the pricing table, then:
    1. They get sent to Paypal
    2. They make a payment
    3. They are returned to the forums payment table page
    4. Xenforo upgrades their status (or group)
Is that how the general flow works?

Yers except you don't need step 2. Once you have set up User Upgrades (e.g. several upgrades at different prices all done within xenForo no addon required) you then automatically have an upgrade page showing the different upgrades and prices viewable within the user account menu:

If you want to show the upgrades and prices on a guest viewable page, that is when you may need an addon.
