In the current release version, all email preferences can be saved from Account Details, Privacy and Preferences. @ this site (at the time of writing), you can only change the "Receive news and update emails" setting on the Account Details and Privacy pages.
If you have removed the full email preferences form from those two pages, this has the potential to cause data loss for all 3rd party add-ons that expect the full list of email preferences (i.e. their own custom preferences) to appear on those two pages.
I could be wrong, and the full form could be loaded but hidden via
Speaking only for ourselves, we have approx. 5 add-ons that expect the "Receive email when a new conversation message is received" field to exist (so our options can be added before it) in all three of those pages.
Please consider undoing this change, as this has the potential to be a backwards compatibility breaking change for custom email preferences.
