Cannot reproduce Post with one sentence gets too long error

I just tried to post here with a reply that had just one sentence and an attachment and got the error:

The submitted message is too long to be processed. Please shorten it.

Maybe the attachment is too large (295KB) but if so the error message should be about that

I don't think this is going to be a bug exactly but we'll likely need steps to reproduce it if it's something you can reproduce consistently.

I'm 99% certain that the image in the post will be coming in as a data URI encoded string instead of the URL of an image or instead of attaching the image data as a file based on the paste data.

How are you adding that image to the post?

And it works fine here, however, at the time I remember thinking it odd that the attachment thumbnail had the extension jpeg, instead of jpg (which it is.

And now it works on that thread, same post, same attachment but this time it did call the extension jpg
