XF 2.2 Not receiving some alerts

Has anyone ever experienced an issue where they get some alerts but not others? For instance, sometimes people will tag me in a post and I'll get the alert, but other times I won't get it at all.

This is using XF 2.2. No errors in the log or anything either.

Okay, it’s not just me. A number of my forum users are saying they only receive some alerts as well.

Months later and this issue still persists with no rhyme or reason. If someone tags someone else, half the time they'll get an alert, the other half they get nothing at all.

I can't be the only one experiencing this issue, can I?

We have had no other reports of it.

Are you able to reproduce it consistently with all add-ons disabled?

I’ve disabled all add-ons and it still happens. The issue is that it’s entirely spontaneous. If I tag 100 people in 100 separate posts, only one of the alerts will fail. It’s as if there is no real rhyme or reason.

I've had this reported, in the end it has always been down to them not visiting the thread after an email notification.
