My add-on needs a new name

My imagination is crap.

This is why my internet handle is basically my name... why my avatar is basically a popular computer game character... I suck.

So some advice and help would be awesome.

I'm currently revamping my Social Status Updater add-on (link in signature). This add-on previously allowed you to connect your forum account to Twitter and/or Facebook so that when you updated your forum status, it would automatically be sent to Twitter and/or Facebook.

There has been some problems so I have started writing the code from scratch. At the same time, I have included some new features. These features will tweet/post when you create a thread and tweet/post if you are awarded a trophy.

So Social Status Updater as a name isn't going to work.

I'm also branching the product out into 3 products. One that only includes Twitter (£10). One that only includes Facebook (£10). And a bundle which includes both (£19). Existing customers of Social Status Updater will of course get the bundle for free.


Right now I'm thinking "Social Updater (for Twitter/Facebook)"

But that's as unimaginative as anything else. Any ideas on a better name? I don't want anything to fancy, but just something descriptive and catchy.

As a reward, if you pick a name that I end up using going forward then I will give you a free copy of the add-on.

How about Xenforo Social Connect!

You could play with the prefix, so say if you have a brand name of your own you could replace Xenforo with that. However it's best to have Xenforo as the starting word because people who are using xenforo are googling with the keyword xenforo in their search.

P.S. You could call it, Deemon Social Connect, and start a company called Deemons! which is Deeming Addons for Xenforo!

I like Socialize but Mr.Goodie2Shoes has an add-on called XenSocialize and I wouldn't want to cause any confusion.

When I paid for the development of this addon I originally wanted it to be an extension of Social Network Authentication because in the AdminCP, the options for that addon is 'Social Network Integration' because that's exactly what the Social Status Updater is. I don't see why it should have even more admincp options. After awhile all the other social network-related addons in admincp will just stack-up over time. It looks ridiculous. If you don't want to do that then I would suggest what sadikb said 'Xenforo Social Connect', not only because it's a great idea but it reminds me of 'vbulletin social connect' without having to pay a ridiculous fee for it with a slow forum software to boot.

It's short and sweet though and does exactly what it says on the tin ... to coin a couple of idiomatic phrases.

Whatever you call it, don't shoot yourself in the foot by naming it something related to FB/Twitter, just keep it generic in case you branch out!

But I do like Chris Deeming and I have the complementary type of brain - limited capacity to code but much imagination. Neither suck dear nice Chris just we have different strength.

cuz XenSocialize v2.0 includes posting on Facebook/Twitter to admin's page when a user creates a thread, post on user's facebook/twitter profile when the user creates a thread and/or replying to one... basically the same as yours...
