Lack of interest Merged thread redirect takes you to that post in the thread it's been merged with

When you merge a thread and use the option to leave a redirect in place, I think that link should jump you to the point in the new merged thread where it now appears.

Currently when you click the redirect link it takes you to the first post in the thread it has been merged with.

Any thoughts on this?
