Disable Title on URL.
Admin > Option > SEO

I do this on my forum.

Admin Control Panel -> Options -> Search Engine Optimization (SEO) -> Include Content Title in URLs -> Uncheck

Thread titles can be changed at anytime without effecting external and internal links, links created with the original thread title would be incorrect and confusing if a thread title is changed.
