SoundCloud support

In this version, we have implemented support for SoundCloud media embeds. Please note, that SoundCloud blocks the requests coming from unknown browsers, so you need to use some modern brower's name in product's settings as a value of option "User Agent". An example value for a Chrome browser could be:

@AddonsLab Soundcloud Share URL Embed Still are not working. This link https://soundcloud.com/user-2377602/amarpremertoriboiacholey URL Embed incorrectly in your test site.

Our product is not the one handling the embed itself, but only checking the URL validity. Just check on our board and see how the URL

was embedded correctly. Just disable our add-on and embed the URL you have reported again, and you will see it will embed the same way. Here is a post where we tested this ourselves - https://xf2.addonslab.com/index.php?threads/testing-link-checker.170334/#post-170440

I am not sure what is the problem on the test site, and the URL you have mentioned worked fine in my local installation, so it could be somehow server-related. Anyway, it is not related to Link Checker, as the product does not in any way handle or change the way media objects are embedded and shown to users. If you see the issue on your board as well, just disable Link Checker, and you will see the issue anyway. Please report it only if you are sure it is related to our add-on.

Updated 2.4.0 but I am still getting Invalid URL Detected.

So need add this Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/51.0.2704.103 Safari/537.36 in User Agent? If this configuration required to make soundcloud.com URLs work then why not added automatically from update/install?

Because some admins may want NOT want to set the User Agent (reasons are explained under in option's text) and not everyone is using soundcloud.com URLs and just don't need to "fake" user agent.

Quote from product's settings page which should answer your question:

User Agent is a string, that identifies your board sending the requests. By default it is XenForo/version (board url). Leave this empty to use the default agent. Please note, that changing user agent to overcome limitation of accessing a website may be illegal, so use the option on your own risk.

So yes, "faking" a user agent to make requests to a site who blocked your user agent (simply because they don't want you to make requests to their website) is not ethical and may be illegal as well. Regarding soundcloud.com, unfortunately, it does not respond to any request which does not come from a valid user agent, so if you want to valid soundcloud.com URLs, you have to have the user agent set to some value representing a real browser.
 
So no real workaround for this without "fake" user agent? It's not a good idea for using "fake" user agent. We need this real fix, not fake.

Dear customer, the fix is not "fake" and there is no "real" fix for it. I hope you had enough time working with us to understand, that we implement the fix which is technically possible, and if we did not implement that means there was no "real" fix. This was not and is not a bug in our product at all, but we did our best in understanding what is the issue and giving you an option to make it work, if you want.

Here is a screenshot from https://onlinecurl.com/ website where you can see, that soundcloud.com responds with "400 Bad Request" to ANY automatic request made to it:

Again, this is not a bug in our product and we can do nothing more than giving you an option to set user agent in options.

Sure, you can add soundcloud.com to the exclusion list, and you don't need User Agent in that case, all soundcloud.com links will be considered valid.

Attachment check and minor fixes

In this version we have implemented attachment validity check. Attachments added to post text can now be checked and will be reported as not found if the attachment with that ID does not exist any longer. XenForo 2.x removes the attachments from post text as soon as the attachments are deleted, but your board might have broken attachments since XenForo 1.x or broken attachments might be caused by mass SQL deletion of attachments or invalid imported data from another software.
