I'm running some competitions on my forum. It's a bit of a pain to have to write details every day and refer back to older emails. I would much prefer to write the posts in advance and then schedule them for the appropriate day.
If you write a post in January, and it's June and you publish it.
It most likely won't show under what's new anyway, because the first post is still January.
You could prep content internally and copy/paste it live when it's ready to go.
This also allows the team to work on the thread, post comments, etc.
