XF 1.1 Importing from vB4 to XF 1.1

Now I'm in the middle of importing Threads & Posts which is the largest part of database.

I would like to ask 'in case' the importing process got timed-out, will the import process continues in background or stopped as well?

My import didn't time out at all. I had over 1 million posts and over 300,000 attachments.

It won't continue in the background - it needs someone to keep it running.

To clarify... if the process times out or the web page fails to load for some reason then you can revisit the import area in the Admin CP. It will prompt you to continue the existing import. Click that option and it will pick up where it left off (in the middle of the thread/post module if that is where it stopped). It won't lose its progress, but as Mike said you do need to keep it running in your browser.
