XF 1.5 How to stop Link Spam?

It's getting old real quick. Is there any way to prevent people from signing up and spamming with links to B.S. every day on my forum? Do I need a plugin to do this? Or am I not finding a standard feature? If I need a plugin, would anyone mind suggesting one? I can't imagine this isn't already a feature of the software considering how much link spam is out there. I must be overlooking the functionality...

Explicitly blocking links (and that only) isn't something that's built into the core. There may be an add-on that does that specifically.

However, the built-in anti-spam tools do have the ability to block links and other content (and either reject it or force it to manual approval). You can do this via "spam phrases".

As an example, for blocking any form of link, the following should work: /[url/i (There are other approaches to doing this as well, such as something like *http*.)

Okay. This is interesting. So if I have "Maximum Messages to Check for Spam" set to 5 and "Spam Phrases" set with either /[url/i or *http* - that will cause anyone with under 5 posts who posts a link to have their message moderated. Am I right? That would surely work just fine...
