Fixed Half logged out overnight on iOS

After approx 24 hours of inactivity, refreshing the page on iOS (not tested it on desktop) will show me as logged out. Clicking Log in will show me this message:


Clicking “here” will log me in.

I'm pretty sure this is essentially the same Safari issue that was reported in a reply here:

Partial fix - Kiwi browser and xenforo 2.2

I upgraded to xenforo 2.2 and some guy reported that can't log with kiwi browser: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kiwibrowser.browser Its based in chromium so i don't know why. Default settings and nothing blocked: I tested in xenforo 2.1 board with no problems, just 2.2

We did actually reproduce that today (and also saw some other odd issues with Safari) and they all seem to spawn out of its SameSite cookie handling. So as mentioned in my response to that report, we're currently rolling back setting the SameSite value by default and that should resolve this. We may consider changing this again in the future, though we'll have to be pretty confident that it works as expected. (It's a subtle issue that might take a period of time to become apparent.)
