GoodForNothing Notification

GoodForNothing Notification 1.0.6 Update 3

No permission to download
Hello @Mr. Goodie2Shoes,

Thank you for the add-on, it seems to be working fine, apart when I mark a message as unread, the alert doesn't pop up like it usually does.

Also, when clicking the X to close the alert, it actually ends up taking me to the message instead.

And just one small request as well, could "Show new alerts and messages as pop ups" be moved to the Alerts Preferences?

Thank you :)

Maybe you can help me then? I get this server error > ErrorException: mkdir(): Permission denied - library/XenForo/Helper/File.php:72

How do I fix this?

Hey! Sorry I missed your post. That is actually by design.

I'll give it a look :)

The installer tried to copy the add-on's style files from the default directory to your available style's directories but couldn't do it due to file permissions issues (using PHP-FPM with a different user?) so the installer just logged that to let you know. Don't forget to copy the files manually else the assets will be missing in the HTML view of the notification... :)

there is one more bug much more annoying than the "x" not removing the alert....if you get 3-4 notifications at same time...there will always be 1 or 2 notifications that gets stuck and never fade away :(

weird... I tested the addon with more than 10 notification and no issue occurred... what browser are you using? version? os?

My Chrome is always updated and I logged in to my forums earlier and had about 27 notifications from this and they all worked fine and closed fine using the latest release of this add-on.

I had another few users confirm it works fine their end too =\

Does this add-on include a permission to control which user group it works for?

I'd like to start using a beta testing user group to try out mods before letting all users use them but that would require the ability to control who is allowed to use it.

Another benefit would be allowing users to choose which kind of alert they want because of the extra screen space this could take up. I have several social threads that get at least a hundred posts per day and I could see this mod not being desirable for some users while others love it.

Wrong answer, sorry.
