Forum license URL

When a forum license URL in the Customer area has no sub-domain, and the actual forum URL does, Xenforo 2.1 fails license validation in the admin panel.

For example:
Site URL in the customer area: https://somewebsite.com
Actual forum URL: https://forums.somewebsite.com

Can changes be made to your system so license validation only considers the .sitename.com portion, and ignores any sub-domain? I have run into license validation issues with clients who have changed their forum to use a sub-domain, and don't understand this means they (currently) need to add the sub-domain in their customer account.

The URL registered against the license should always match where XF is installed.

If the installation is moved, the license should be updated.

The thing is, I know that, but often newbies aren't aware of something like this when it is obvious to you and I. In this instance, my client says "but I do have the right web site in there!", and I have to explain to them domainname.com and subdomain.domainname.com are not considered the same site.

I'm not being critical, it has never been a problem for me with my own sites. Rather, I'm throwing this out for consideration to help target the least common denominator of the end user of the product.

Although this is bound to increase support requests, we are already finding that there is an overall net benefit in terms of the issues that the license validation is highlighting.

These are the types of issues which could potentially lead to license agreement breaches so it's a benefit to everyone involved if we avoid them. The license URL validation helps with that.

Thank you for the feedback. I don't always get what I want, but I do appreciate the consideration and the time you took to explain things from your side of the equation. :)
