/forum/forums URL structure

Yes, installing more than one software suite in the same directory can be a problem, especially if they have identical file names such as index.php.

Just to clarify though, the /forums is to identify the content type, just as /pages is for Pages and /threads is for individual threads/topics.

For example:

http://xenforo.com/community/forums/announcements/
http://xenforo.com/community/threads/xenforo-1-0-0-beta-1-released.4858/
http://xenforo.com/community/pages/example-page/
http://xenforo.com/community/help/terms

Thing is if you change 'forum' to 'community', you're changing your main forum URL from your vB install. That's not something I'd like to do for obvious SEO reasons.

It will be interesting to see how an XF forum will do in serps with /forum/forums/category as opposed to /forum/category.

The problem here is this, anyone installing in a sub directory called "Forums" or "Forum" is going to end up with forums/forums/ or forum/forums/ so this is maybe something that XF can address in upcoming releases or if someone wants to start fooling around with some rewrites for us lol... only a minor issue but never the less i think this could be a SEO issue.

I agree, but it could be a good thing having both forum and forums in the URL. In a perfect world, I wouldn't have both, but I'm hoping it's not a big issue, especially now that I've migrated from a vBSEO'ed vB4 install.
