Food Fantasia

Just had a toasted wholegrain sandwich with some of the left over meat from last night.. mmmm was good.

Sounds great.

Is it just me? Or are other people eating more cookies? Someone on this forum is eating a cookie in his avatar, and now I am eating more cookies. :)

Well I have a hubby who is not well currently, and who is on simple food.

So of course.. it has to be Chicken soup! Universal salve of all that ails you.

This was a very subtle asian influenced chicken soup. Free Range chicken breasts very slowly simmered in a home made chicken stock base, with a few asian aromatics, including ginger.

Served on top of rice noodles (I always remove gluten when someone has a digestive system illness)

Very simple, and quite tasty, I spiced mine up a bit with some extra soy and black pepper.

It was pretty yummy, even I feel soothed and mellowed by it, so much so, I really feel like a big bubble bath right now.. but we don't have a decent bathtub.

My niece was over tonight so it was more a kids meal.

Golden Drummers and Chips.

For afters we had pancakes with ice cream and banana, not to much banana though as I only had 2.

I try to eat simple with less than 4-5 items in my food. So far I've lost 10lbs.

I blame the recession for me not being able to get the extra large combos from the fast food places.

She loved it bless her.

The chips were a bit crap though.

That's a shame :( But still, your audience loved it, and that's all that matters! :D

Today I had a guest for lunch, and rather than cook, just got some sushi from the local Japanese ... Was mmMMMmmMMmMMmMMM

Worked well for the diet too! I am in a salmon mood today, going to have salmon for dinner as well :D hehehe

I'm not a great fan of sushi as something to eat, but those look great - and that's half the battle isn't it :)

Ahhh one of life's delights is sushi :D I love it, this was very nice, lots of dynamite wasabi to blow my head off :p

My guest enjoyed his ones with Eel and so on, I am not such a fan of those, but the Salmon... OooooOoooo wowsers!

Going to have my salmon tonight ever so slightly more cooked :p

Has sushi caught on in England? - it's a real consumer item down here now. Had a member from the North of England a few years back who had never tried sushi ... well at least that's what I think he said over the phone, the only words besides "sushi" I could make out were "tractor" and "black pudding" .... hmmm black and white pudding for breakfast ... sensational stuff, pity we don't get that where I live :(

As nice as those photos are, I'm not a fan of sushi either, I prefer my fish cooked. My daughter loves it, different generation I guess.

I don't mind sushi but it's not something I have or want too often.

Having said that, yours does look really nice.
