Food Fantasia

Now stop that! You cook well, that in and of it's self is brilliant in my books! and you DO make an effort with presentation - I've seen it ;)
Thank you.

Just had a salad tonight.

It contained the usual veggie stuff, including one of Shelley's smilies, and some chopped almonds covered in a honey and mustard dressing.

Well I had what I call my student dinner tonight. Rice and peas with chopped up chicken from the wok and mayo! I just love mayo and rice!

We Dutch like mayo and get frowned upon for it. I think I can now say
hey .. at least I don't put it on my rice! That's a first I hear about putting mayo on rice ..

I discovered it when I was a very poor student and all I had was mayo and rice in the cupboard!

made a quick 10 minute pasta dish with fresh garlic fried in extra virgin olive oil with some al dente noodles thrown into the mix after...I added my minimal spicing to it in the form of some crushed red pepper and italian seasonings. Simple, fast, cheap, and awesome all rolled into a battle for your taste buds.

linguine aglio olio ( linguine with garlic and oil ) topped with some fresh pecorino romano.

Off to go eat and sleep.

My dear hubby was going to take me out for dinner tonight, but as he's still not a 100% in the health dept, I suggested we stay in instead.

And all the restaurants around here pretty much suck :p

Going to do a simple Fillet (or Phillip as my son used to call it and we now jokingly do too) Steak. Steamed desiree spuds and green beans.

As we were out and about and trapped in the Mall of death for hours, for lunch I had a chicken salad from Oporto's (Chicken, in a fake semi Portuguese Peri Peri style, insulting to call it that though) - was OK, and only 309 cals, so pretty good for take away food.

Forcing my dad to take me and my brother here tomorrow for dinner because he didn't return a call for like 2 weeks: http://picanharestaurant.com/picanha_interface.html.

Has some of the best cooked meat I've ever had~.

Also, my sushi was amazing :D.

Dude you are so taking me there if I ever get out your way :) Meat ..... hmmmmm ......
And all the sides are as much as you can eat, and they are amazing as well.

Their deserts suck however, as does their drink selection.

mmmmm MMMMMeat :p :D That restaurant looks like fun!

Good! I forgot to ask if you ended up getting it, glad it was nice :D What did you have?

I picked up my brother from his school and kidnapped him for lunch, as well as my cousin and we all shared their sushi boat (Has most of their most popular sushi), as well as some Dragon rolls (Unagi with eel sauce), California rolls (Which is his favorite for some reason), and tempura.

Not here...there is a lot of wannabes that don't have the taste or experience to market what they do and their food says so... I'll take some pics this weekend; casino for dinner , they have quite a big selection there. (Don't forget LA just about fits in Ct. LOL) Not sure if I'm going for buffet or something I have to dress nice for...but either way everything there is good if you can stand the drive to the middle of nowhere.
