Coupla burgers from the takeaways, nothing flash but good solid burgers ... better than that McD's rubbish.

Love it when the kids are at their mother's, don't have to cook :).

This is my favourite soup, very healthy and it tastes great if you like red lentils (Hope you like it Dragonfly!)

250gr red lentils
1 medium potatoe
1 carrot
1 medium onion
25-30gr butter
Dried red chili flakes
Salt

Rinse the lentils with cold water to remove the starch

Put them in a large pan, cover with cold water and cook slowly, occasionally removing the white foam
Chop all the other vegetables (or use a robot) into small pieces
Once the lentils are half cooked, add the other vegetables and the salt, cook until they're all soft
Use a blender to make it smooth
In a small pan, melt the butter and fry the chili flakes for a few minutes

Add to the soup and stir well

Serve with fresh lemon and extra chili flakes

Afiyet olsun! (Bon appetit)

What are they? And will you get a pic for us?

Pwwwwwwwweease *puppy eyes*

What is pierogi?
Simply put, a dumpling usually filled with potato and other things, I say it this way because you can put whatever you want in them. To boot, you can also serve these in an almost unlimited way from fried, to in soup as a stuffed noodle or even put a marinara type of sauce on them. I have even made dessert pierogi and they came out pretty good if I an allowed to say that :).

You cant beat them fresh, but if you make a bunch of them you can put them in portions in the freezer and just boil and top with butter, oil, or a concoction of any ingredients you like for a quick explosion of taste sensations that you can make in the time it takes to boil water.

By the way, welcome to the site and hope you find your Xen here :)

Great, cheers. The photo I attached isn't actually mine! Ooops!

You should be in Australia's Masterchef programme, you'd win it I think ;)
