Food Fantasia

Simply put, a dumpling usually filled with potato and other things, I say it this way because you can put whatever you want in them. To boot, you can also serve these in an almost unlimited way from fried, to in soup as a stuffed noodle or even put a marinara type of sauce on them. I have even made dessert pierogi and they came out pretty good if I an allowed to say that :).

Sounds yummy, thanks for explaining. It reminds me of Turkish manti (similar to ravioli) and the Japanese dumplings you get in Wagamama. :)

By the way, welcome to the site and hope you find your Xen here :)
Thanks very much :)

Awww you're sweet

There is an Australian Masterchef, and I watched a little bit of it, the guy who won it this year was wayyyyy out of my cooking league, he was fantastic :D
We watched last year's programme and didn't really like the winner. She thought the shallots were onions (shocking!). Some of them were very good though. I wish I could cook like them. :)

What are they? And will you get a pic for us?

I'm sooo sorry, I for some reason started viewing the page at Londoners post, twas odd ;)

But on the bright side...because of this I'm now locked into this comment of mine...
Yeah that's right...pics or it didn't happen :p
which puts me in a bind here as cameras and working dough don't go that well together
Pwwwwwwwweease *puppy eyes*
Oh hell no you didn't whip out the puppy eyes on me (weakness):p ...maybe I get a finished shot of some plated. Will that suffice for the queen of the kitchen? :p

I want to try those now and probably anything that comes out of a place with a name like that :)

Tell me about these manti :)

Wagamama is a very popular Japanese restaurant chain. It is one of our favourite restaurants in London. I believe there are a few Wagamamas in NewYork too.

Manti is like Italian ravioli. We put beef mince and onion inside small dough balls (fry or boil) and eat them with tomatoe sauce topped with garlic yogurt and chili pepper flakes. Yummy..

hehehe :D A finished plated shot would be excellent!! :D
Ok, if I do it today I promise a picture :) I do think my other dumplings which will go unnamed to evade the jinx might be getting made early tomorrow pending on whether or not my brain fights waking existence.

Next time I head to the city I will look for Wagamamas (I love saying that) as now I'm intrigued though it may just be the name :)
