There are no details on it at this point. What exactly does SVG framework do ?
But I can use FA5 Pro on my own websites as far as I know. As long as I manage them it should be fine.Nice!
Still don't see point in most of it though. Almost all of those goals are about "pro" version. Pro version cannot be used in software and distributed themes, unless designer pays extra $600 for theme license.
FA Free won't get much. Because project reached 1m goal, free version will get SVG framework. If its any good, that's the only good thing out of entire kickstarter.
Not being able to use "pro" version in themes without paying extra hefty fee makes it rather useless. There are thousands of free SVG icons out there, including massive Google Material Designs library that is already bigger than what FA 5 promises and is completely free.
But I'm hoping for best. I'm hoping SVG framework will be good, usable with free version.
Free set doesn't have icon parity with version 4, pro version has no advantages over version 4. There is no reason to switch to version 5.Looks like version 5 is available https://fontawesome.com/pro
Wonder if Xenforo will be using it? We are using 4.7.0 as far as i know.

Yes, it is much better designed.I prefer the look of 5 over 4, even without the parity (there are plenty to swap newer 5's into the old 4's.), that's more than enough reason for me.
FA5 was released a week or two after XF2. Also, as mentioned above, there's not complete icon parity between FA4 and the free version of FA5.Why does XF2 use FA4 and not FA5?
Me tooI kickstarted the Pro version
Any tips and examples how to use FA5 icons in templates?I'm already using it on my dev xF2 site.
