XF 1.2 External Link Image not showing up on post

Hi All,

Something weird is happening. My users is linking some external link images, but it's not showing up on their posting.

I've checked the link to external link image. It's showing up on my browser just fine. but when I look at their
thread the image that they link are blank.

Pulaunya keciiill... Ga ada kendaraan bermotor, adanya cm sepeda sama cidomo (semacam andong tp rodanya geday). Sepeda bisa disewa @25 rebong seharian, udah dapet kliling 1 pulau ituh. Dgn catetan: jago nawar harga sewa, plus kekuatan betis cukup memadai. Hahaa...<br>

Ni pulau bener2 khusus wisata, dan didominasi turis manca. Ntah kenapa, tampaknya gaung Gili Trawangan kurang terdengar di kalangan lokal. Padahal ni pulau asli cakeuuuppp... Ga ada matinya..! Malem sampe pagipun sepanjang pinggir pantai banyak resto, klub, cafe, 'n somekind of that yg pemandangan 'n fasilitasnya cihuy beut, dgn harga yg miring semiring2nya..<br>

Minusnya: berhubung kebanyakan turisnya manca, so harga clothes 'n souvenirnya mahal gilaaakk.. Utk kaos dgn model yg sama misalnya, di Bali bisa dapet 25rebong, di Gili 80an rebong. Maakkk...<br>

Tp teup rekomen tempat ini bwt yg bener2 pingin nikmatin liburan leha2 nyante2. Asal jgn lupa bawa stok baju yg banyaaaaaaakk...<br>

I thought it could perhaps be my computer that's causing the problem. However when I use my tablet/latop.. the image is also not showing up.

Pleas help.

Hi @Mike , thanks for the reply. Is there a way that other website can distinguish users that's looking at their own site and user thats loading image from other website? I thought the handling of image loads is on the browser side.

Yes, the site can control this based on the referrer. There's nothing you can do about it if you're hotlinking the image from their site (you'd need to have a local copy of it).

@melbo.. yup tried. but it was conflicting with my current add-on.

@Mike ... how many days of data can the image proxying store for xf v1.3?
any idea when v1.3 is coming mike? Ballpark figure ?

I ask because those addons were causing the same problem on my board. Any external links which should have failed were instead inserted badly (not as images) Took me a lot of scraping my attachment directories to fix.
