Along with the update, I also wanted to report some ranking changes. I changed the meta description of 5 fairly well ranking threads to include the exact phrase.

So far, I have seen positive improvements in the rankings. 3 out of 5 were already ranked on the first page, while 2 were on the second. 2 of the 3 on the first page moved up 1 spot against heavy competition(i.e Amazon, eBay etc.), and 1 remained the same. The 2 on the second, moved up to the bottom of the first page. There weren't any drastic improvements, though it has only been 5 days and these were already well ranking. I plan on optimizing more pages moving forward, I just haven't had the time. I expect this will have a huge impact on pages that are on 5th or 6th pages.

I suggest to add the possibility to use all meta tags on forum creation (example noindex, nofollow). I'm aivable to do a donation for this new feature.

I saw on XFRM have an addon allow you to do that..

Meta keyword is of very little importance, but description still plays a big role. Title tag and description are still 2 of the biggest on site factors. On my forum, we have a lot of content with keyword rich titles, but they rank poorly since the first post contains images, or very few words. By being able to insert a relevant Meta Description with the exact search title, those pages will rank higher.

As our forum is private, my interest is in improving internal searching capabilities. Does the XF Search Engine leverage these keywords?

#1: Yep! I can.
#2: If you want to display so put the variable to template thread_view or some templates have params $thread.

Hello,

I have checked the meta description indexed from google and its different from the text I set on the addon. Its using the post text.

Is this still working ? Its more than 60 days I have set up this meta description and when I check the code of the page, its right.. using the text I customized on the addon. No idea why google isn't using it.

Forcing a copyright without an option for removal is the only thing stopping me from installing your add-on. Apart from that, it's a useful one.

I will have to agree with this. Even xF themselves allow for copyright removal with payment. I can't stand copyrights and if I can pay a little extra to remove them I do and I feel that you should be able to pay a certain amount and remove the copyright on this addon as well.

Yes, I also use it for threads which only contain images, and Google Indexes profile/user info instead of relevant thread info.

Yes, long story short 1.0.4 works 100% fine with XF1.4. I am just bad at using resource manager

I believe they will be deleted, since it will revert to the standard meta description (content) of the thread.

I have installed this add-on however there is two meta name="description" content= now.
The one using your add-on at the top and a second one, there should be only one as it will revert to the default one?
