I noticed this bit on styling: "It has been designed to suit the default style and is fully responsive." Does this Add-On incorporate a forum's custom style in any way, or will a dedicated featured threads homepage look like the default xenForo style? I'm looking to add a featured threads homepage to http://wearabletechforums.com

By customizable, do you mean that the add-on is already integrated with the forum style? Or that it must be restyled to match?

It uses the default classes (where applicable) and colour palette.

It will adapt automatically to a custom style but tweaking may be required to get it to display exactly as desired.

That is easily achieved via the extensive Style Properties.

Hi Brogan, im trying to make the opacity of the background image in the block to 50%. Basically putting opacity: 0.5; in the misc box for background image SP doesnt work. Is there another way i can do this within the SP for background images?

If i put the opacity: 0.5; in the misc box, it makes the entire block opacity 50% rather than just the background image.

Just started using this after shelving it for a long time. Just wanted to say thanks for providing so many different options for us. Now i just wish i knew CSS as others do to make the most of it

Just did so... now I get a different frontend error only which stops posting of new threads only. Quick reply is fine. There is no logged ACP error:



The exact steps are simply... try and create new thread.

@Anthony Parsons, neither myself nor @Chris D can reproduce any of the errors you have reported, using FT 2.11 and FT 2.12 Alpha.

Automatic Featuring of all threads is enabled.
Moderation of all new threads is enabled.

New threads are able to be posted.
Once they are approved, they are automatically featured.

If you have any other add-ons installed, I would suggest disabling those and testing again.

If that still doesn't work, upload the files for FT (make sure you use the modified file I sent you) and AVF mod checkpoint and import the .xml files again.

Anyway, we are having few strange issues after moving to a new server and creating a brand new site!

Anyway first issue: Double home problem. Now that we have a wordpress site front end we want the home of the forums to goto the wp site but we also want the featured threads front page. See image:



Is there any way not to have the first "Home" menu while still having the logo link to the wp site - or alternatively rename the second home to "Forum Home" or something like that?

Second issue: We ended upgrading to 1.42 during the move. We now cannot get the slider to appear any page with everything turned. We have no idea what is going here and have had this problem before. Any ideas.

You can remove the Board URL and edit the template to link the logo to the WP page.
Or you can rename the phrase for the FT Home tab - cta_ft_home.

The slider does work in 1.4.2 - I use it on my own site.
Ensure there are no outdated templates, the option and SPs are enabled and you have uploaded slider images for each thread promoted to the slider.

Hi Brogan,

The name change was simple as you said - changed the phrase - thank you. In order to fix the other problem - no idea what was going on I uninstalled and re-installed and that seemed to fix it. There are still some weird things happening on our server so it is not clear where the problem is - guess server side currently.
