Well, I was using that as an example to ask if *all* features can be kept from certain UG on a wholesale level. I see what you mean about seeing likes but not being able to use them etc. that doesn't bother me. I was just wondering id the add on had like a core package of available features available to *all* UGs without me baing able to prevent that, but optional features after that.

I think based on your replies the answer is no, there is no set of basic features and that I *can* prevent a UG from using any of the features.

I think we are finally on the same page here :)
Group permissions are just that - group based specific permissions (either they have them or they don't), but settings on the options page are displayed to and affect all user groups.

How do you kick someone out of a conversation.

I can only see "Can kick participants from conversations they started:" in the permissions

I have ticked this, but don't see any link in their Avatar.

Plus that sounds like I can only kick people who started the PC.

When that permission is set it means that only the person who started the conversation can kick participants out of it.
If that is what you are trying to do and still do not see the kick link on the user's avatar, then make sure that the permission is not revoked anywhere and that all template edits show as green in colour.

Aha, so is it not possible for an admin to kick anyone out, only the conversation starter can do that? Is that right?

I thought an admin should be able to kick out somebody.

What do you mean by template edits?

I don't understand about green template modifications.

They are all blue.

I still cannot see a link to kick someone out of a conversation I started. I did an analyze permissions, and it says I am allowed, but I see no link to do it.

Each template edit should 1/0/0 (in Green, Grey, Red) on the right hand side.
Ensure none have a grey or a red numbers there.

No, I don't see "kick" under the avatar.
It is not under the avatar but inside the avatar or when you hover over it.

If you are sure that you are the conversation starter and you are not trying to kick another administrator, then all I can suggest is to disable any other add-ons you may have that relate to conversations and try again.
Other than that you will have to contact me via PC as I will require answers to more specific questions.

I have several PCs that run long. Over time the subject of the PC changes from the initial post. How about the ability for the PC starter (and admin of course :)) to change the PC title? (y)

The conversation starter can already do that by clicking the 'Edit Conversation' link at the top of the conversation view page.

Ah, OK - I guess I had only checked on conversations someone else initiated. Still, it would be a nice admin option for all PCs. ;)

I can add options till the cows come home but unless most people actually want/need them then they become just clatter.
I could tell you how to edit the XenForo canEditConversation() function to achieve what you want. Just start a PC if you do.

I cannot see how to delete a conversation. I know we can "leave" a conversation but here's an example of why a hard delete is needed. I just sent a Conversation to a member, and immediately aftyer I sent it I realized it was to the wrong staff member. I had no way to delete it so I edited it to say "sent by mistake". If I had just "left" the conversation he would have still seen it. So, in lieu of deleting it I had to make the "edit".

i realize if I had a delete option, he would have still gotten an email if he has his email notifications on, but those email do not contain the content of the conversation do they?
