In Chat admin options under "Display mode" you can choose how the chat is displayed. However, if you have the user group permission to change display mode from the chat user settings, that option will override the admin option for you.

I changed all that as you suggested but it wont disappear, even if I try to change locations, stay in the same spot.

That's because your individual chat user settings are overriding the admin option as I mentioned above. In the chat user settings (cog icon) there is "Display mode" which controls the display only for you.

When upgrading from xf1.5 to xf2.1 do I need to uninstall and install the last version after XF upgrade or I just need to upgrade the add-on?

I would like to retain all chat conversation.

If not, I see that the message table in 2.1 has more fields.
Can I just upload the conversation fields from 1.5 to 2.1?

You cannot upgrade from 1.5 to 2.x as they are not compatible. You have to remove 1.5 first.

I never upgraded started with xf2.0 I dont see the display mode option you speak of

It was most likely a permission issue.

Hi @Siropu,

The chat settings menu can get quite long, which on my mobile device tends to overflow beyond the viewport height (only just). What do you think of potentially splitting this menu into two tabs, "Settings" and "Sound & notifications", using tabpanel like XenForo has done for Bookmarks in the Account menu?

when using the chatbar, there is not auto-scrolling in my installation. I always have to scroll down manually to see new chat posts - even my own I sent minutes before. Is this a bug or a problem in my local install?

It´s a weird browser issue as it seems. Tested it meanwhile with different browsers on desktop and mobile and the issue is pertaining in both firefox, desktop and mobile. Chrome, Opera and MSIE seem to work as designed. Can you confirm that firefox behaviour, @Siropu ?

Seems to be working fine. I'm using Ubuntu, not Windows so I don't know it that makes any difference.

With some PHP changes, yes. In Siropu/Chat/Widget/Chat.php find 'Siropu\Chat:Chat', and add before it: 'XF:Account',
