Just wanted to say thanks to @Siropu for keeping this chat add-on active with the latest Xenforo. It's become a very important part of my forum, so I was very happy that I could update to 2.3 and not lose it as a feature.

above forum list doesn't seem to work

The same thing happens on my test site.
Except for me there is no change in other positions also. Only the standalone page works.

If "Above forum list" doesn't work, "Below forum list" shouldn't work as well. Take a look on the Template modification page under "forum_list" (Widget position above and below forum list.) and see if there is an issue with applying the code there.

@Siropu i tried looking in templates and message colors. Is there a way to make the default for all users text not Alice blue? Its first in the list and our modes our themes are white so it’s hard to see

The problem is that I haven't set a default option and when you change settings, you automatically set the first option as your text color. It will be fixed soon.

Fixed an issue with image uploads not working.
Fixed an issue with message color where a user automatically gets the first color in the list when a setting is changed.
Fixed an issue with whisper messages breaking the editor when page loads.
Fixed some JS errors when using guest mode.
Other JS minor fixes for AJAX loaded messages.

@Siropu Please check. I've been using it for years, but ever since I upgraded my board to 2.3 and Chats to 2.4.2, I've been getting errors with chat reactions.


Initially, the emoji reactions appear correctly, but after some time, they change to "[object HTMLDivElement]" in any chat with reactions.

I'm having an issue where anytime someone sends a message in private or in a chatroom it gets sent to the default chat instead. i can't figure it out...

I figured this out thanks to this, it was a matter of incorrect permissions after moving our install into a different location in our server. Check your permissions, chmod isn't enough sometimes.
