XF 1.5 changed default email problem

I have changed the default and contact email address in my admin options and I don't receive anything from any method from anyone on my forum. Is there another thing I need to change or am I missing something?

Is the email address valid?
Is the domain being used blacklisted (or the MTA's IP) so that the mail is going into spam?
Simply changing those two options should not have effected anything, but I have a feeling one of the above is coming into play.

Well i was having problems with the current mail provider/host (hostgator) sometimes being blocked by yahoo, so I made an outlook account which shouldn't have any probs as its so well known i thought.

I did check its validity by sending messages other ways (not through forum) and its ok

Could I have messed it up in a template somewhere? hmm

Odds are it's hotmail. They have a major issue of blocking emails lately... especially if the sender reputation is not high.
Try gmail

Your email sending service (SMTP or the PHP default method which hands off to a program like Postfix) could potentially be changing behavior based on the "from" address and not allowing it if it doesn't match what's expected. Are you seeing any server errors logged in the control panel? What mail sending method are you using?

Just for the record, this is not a xenforo problem.

I ran tests in CP and everything looks fine. Sending method? I'm not sure. I am using hostgator as a mail server. I have filled out a request to be recognized at Yahoo http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/postmaster/bulkv2.html as per AndyB's help.

Hostgator support said Yahoo doesn't always work with them. Thanks for helping!
